Sean McNamara

Dr. Sean Mcnamara is one of the two chief protagonists (the other being Christian Troy) in the hugely popular TV show Nip/Tuck. The show has been Fox Entertainment’s ace trick since 2003. The show has been conceived and mostly directed by Ryan Murphy.

Holder of the plot
This series has overtones of the generic duo with different natures. One is often showed to be an extrovert and the other always prefers to remain confined in his own world. Sean Mcnamara plays the sedate part here, perhaps buoyed by the fact that Dylan Walsh looks pretty fit to the sedate type. He has been an acute holder of the plot as the explicit surgeries and noncommittal violence needs a staid protagonist.

Character
His marriage has been a roller-coaster ride. In the midst of divorces and marriages with the same woman, he has been able to instill two children in her. The eldest Matt belongs to a one-night frolic between Christian and his wife Julia, one more reason for his confused gravity. His family is chaotic, cursed by the rigmaroles of life, and that has led him to take an onerous job and be busy with it. Easily the better plastic surgeon of the two, he has an intention to take over some pro-bono work.

Sentimentality
Sean is a highly sentimental surgeon, who has soft corner for many patients and even had love for one. Yet when he gives direct demonstrations on TV as to the surgical operations on face, breasts and other organs, h looks a professional. His friendship with the antipodal Christian has perhaps survived as it bears its origin to college life. His closeness with the patients has been cause of many rifts between the married couple. His sexually confused son Matt (Actually Christian’s) also keeps him in doldrums. Dylan deals very well with the confusion nevertheless.
